It helps to include your macOS version, the AudioPin version (in the menu: Settings), and the audio devices involved. Since AudioPin has no network access, no report is ever sent automatically - we only know what you tell us.

Common questions

I launched the app and nothing appeared

AudioPin lives in the menu bar only - there is no Dock icon and no window. Look for its icon near the clock. If the menu bar is crowded, macOS may hide it: remove another icon or drag them to reorder (hold Cmd).

How do I pin my devices?

Open the menu and pick an output and an input. That pick is the pin. From then on, any change the system makes on its own is reverted automatically.

It did not revert a switch

Check that Guard enabled is ticked in the menu. Also note that AudioPin only reverts changes the system made by itself: if you picked a device by hand - in the menu, in Control Center or in System Settings - AudioPin treats that as your decision and it becomes the new pin.

How do I let macOS decide again?

Use Unpin Output or Unpin Input in the menu. Each direction is pinned independently, so you can guard just the microphone and leave the output free, or the other way round.

What happens when a pinned device is unplugged?

Nothing dramatic: devices are tracked by identity, not by connection. While the device is away, macOS picks a fallback; the moment you plug it back in, the pin snaps back.

I got a new Mac

AudioPin is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account. On the new Mac, open the Mac App Store, go to your purchases and download it again - free.

Can it start automatically?

Yes - tick Launch at Login in the menu.
